‘Sacred Made Real’ Wins Art Competition
Pupils from Years 3 to 8 at Barrow Hills School in Witley in Arundel & Brighton Diocese recently took part in their annual House Art Competition. The children worked on their entries over a few weeks and the completed work was displayed at an exhibition for parents on Thursday evening.
The un-enviable task of judging the competition fell to Laurence Hedges, Head of Art at Wellington College. The overall winner was a Year 8 pupil, Holly. Her work was inspired in response to the ‘Sacred Made Real’ exhibition that the children attended earlier in the year, and is now on permanent display in the school Chapel. In choosing Holly, he said that she combined technique with vision, being able to show a maturity beyond her years.
