The St Pius Walkers from Guildford Tackle Dorset

Nineteen parishioners from St Pius in Merrow and Burpham near Guildford (see below) attended a weekend ramblers gathering in Shaftesbury, Dorset enjoying the varied walks and sites of interest including the hilltop town itself and the surrounding countryside.

In some places their walks became more reminiscence of an assault course for those with experience in the armed forces or adventure training. Crawling under numerous barred wire fences and climbing over ditches spanned with logs of wood. On top of this the few signposts meant they also had try and work out which way we were heading!

The faithful band of walkers from St. Pius can certainly claim to be fit and healthy and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the rolling hills, wooded areas, quiet villages with their many stoned clad cottages and pretty gardens together with excellent weather for walking. As they walked they truly appreciated the full glory of God's creation.

A fuller story will appear in a future edition of A&B News
