The Second Vatican Council in Rome in its decree on communications (Inter Mirifica) said that "the Church believes that its task involves employing the means of social communication to announce the good news of salvation.” This blog is part of that process by the Diocese of Arundel & Brighton to communicate that same good news about Jesus Christ.

Catholic Deacon Appointed Chaplain at Anglican School
Deacon Richard Edwards from the Parish of Our Lady Queen of Peace, Adur Valley incorporating St Peter’s, Shoreham-by-sea; Christ the King in Steyning and the Towers Convent in Upper Beeding, has recently been appointed Chaplain at the Church of England controlled Steyning Grammar School which is also a Specialist Technology College with a student population of just over 2000 .
He will be one of the first Roman Catholic chaplains to be appointed to a C of E school.
Deacon Richard, who also teachs Mathematics at the Grammar School, will from 1st September combine this role with that of part time Chaplain. He has the full support of both Bishop Kieran of Arundel & Brighton Diocese and all the clergy of Steyning.
