The Scottish Baird Helps Young People to Reach Madrid

The Nativity of the Lord parish reports:
We'll tak a cup o'kindness yet ... and get our young people to Madrid!  As part of their fundraising to help send young people to World Youth Day this year, the parish of the Nativity of the Lord held a Burns Night Supper on 22nd January.

The Haggis is piped in!
The room was decorated with tartan cloth, with candles and silver goblets on the table.  Chris Bayley a parishioner offered his services as piper and piped in the haggis which was carried in by Nicky. We had a traditional Burns Supper including neeps and tatties with Cranachan Cream for dessert.  This was followed by traditional speeches including a brief synopsis of Burn’s life, an address to the lasses and a humorous response to gentlemen, plus a short selection of his poems, finishing the supper with Auld Lang Syne. Traditional Scottish dancing followed."
