Donkey leads uplifting week in Hove

Anna Hayward from Sacred Heart, Hove reports that:

Fr Kevin Dring and Mabel the donkey led the congregation of the Church of the Sacred Heart, Hove on a Palm Sunday procession to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, as he entered Jerusalem. On a glorious morning, children held palm fronds aloft and spread out cloaks as the donkey reached the Church entrance, accompanied by all in song.

It was the start of a prayerful and joyful week for the Parish, Fr Kevin’s first at Sacred Heart. Many Parishioners responded to the invitation to participate in all the liturgies of the Easter Triduum as a whole. The Parish also joined with other Christians for the Good Friday Walk of Witness in Central Hove, again blessed by fabulous sunshine, stopping at Sacred Heart for the first time for prayer and reflection at the second Station of the Cross.

At the Easter Vigil, eight adults were baptised and received, a fitting celebration to end an uplifting Holy Week.
