Festival of Corpus Christi in Arundel

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in Arundel Castle Grounds led by Bishop Kieran
Despite the rainy weather earlier in the day the sun shone and the heavens stayed dry for the Annual Mass and Blessed Sacrament Procession in Arundel. Bishop Kieran presided at the Mass in the Cathedral and in his homily reminded the packed Cathedral congregation the Eucharist was about remembering. A remembering of Christ's act in the Last Supper of the gift of a new covenant which was about the forgiveness of sins. For this we should always approach the Mass with an attitude of thanksgiving and gratitude.

Blessed Sacrament Procession through the town
After Mass the Bishop then processed the Blessed Sacrament through the town follwed by clergy, knights and dames of various orders as well as a large group of laity before entering into Arundel Castle Grounds where there was Exposition and Benediction. The procession then returned to the Cathedral for a further period of prayer and final Benediction before the beautiful carpet of flowers was walked over as the Bishop left the Cathedral.
