Knights of St Columba consolidate and now expand in Guildford & Godalming‏

Bass Wheeler and Geoff Balls Newly Invested Knights
The number of Knights of St Columba in Guildford and Godalming is increasing after a difficult period in which the number of Knights in the two adjacent Councils of Guildford and Godalming were in decline. In 2011 these two Councils merged and this re-invigorated Council set about a recruitment drive with the result that they have had two new Knights invested at Aylesford on June 10th 2012 and more ‘apprentices’ (or brothers) are on the way.
Now they are focused on further recruitment, improving communications by way of a new website and a number of charitable, social, action and fund raising activities including stewarding at St Peter's School fayre, graveyard tidying, gardening at a local Life house, supporting the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children's Chain for Life and a family walk with pub lunch. If you would like to find out more about what these Knights are doing then contact Tim Lux on 01483 454 693.

The chief celebrant at the Southern Provinces Pilgrimage and Full Knighthood Ceremony was the Right Reverend John Hine, Bishop of Southwark. The Supreme Knight in Britain, Ron Lynch, performed the investitures of new Knights from all over the south east of England.
