Mass for New Catholics - A Time to Give Thanks

A very happy Tom after the Mass with his Mum, Brenda
and Learning Disabilities Adviser John McManus
Bishop Kieran last Saturday evening in Arundel Cathedral joined with some of the people who had been received into full communion or baptised into the Church at Easter. Every year at the Rite of Election at the beginning of Lent he offers an invitation for all the hundreds preparing for reception or baptism during that season to come back again and celebrate their new life as Catholics with him at the Cathedral after Easter.
One of the most moving parts of the liturgy was when Tom who was received into the Church at Easter in St Michael's in Worthing and his Mum, Brenda brought up the gifts together with Learning Disablities Adviser John McManus who had prepared him for reception.

This year Bishop Kieran reminded all present that the journey into the Church does not end our journey of fiath, but rather that it is, for all, a lifetime's work.
